The General Assembly welcomed 90 attendees and reflected on the association’s activities and priorities. A particular focus was placed on the continued support of the Orchestra Academy, which plays an important role in preparing the next generation of orchestral musicians.
As in previous years, members of the Orchestra Academy opened the General Assembly with a performance, giving the young musicians visibility within one of the association’s key annual events.
The gathering also highlighted initiatives connecting artistic creation with wider societal questions. Among them was Sustainable Listening, the interdisciplinary concert and discourse series supported by the Friends & Supporters. Its latest edition explored the relationship between music, urban environments and sustainability through performance, climate expertise and dialogue with audiences.
By supporting initiatives such as the Orchestra Academy, International Opera Studio and innovative artistic formats, the Friends & Supporters continue to create opportunities for emerging artists while contributing to the long-term artistic and social development of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden.
